Choosing Nexum Electrical Solutions means your property is in the hands of a fully qualified and NICEIC-accredited team with extensive experience delivering safe and reliable electrical work across Scotland.
We follow strict industry standards to ensure every project is completed to the highest level of safety, quality, and compliance. From initial planning through to completion, our process is designed to give you complete confidence in the work being carried out.
Before any work begins, we ensure clear communication and a full understanding of the project requirements. Throughout the installation, quality checks are carried out to maintain high standards, and a final inspection ensures everything is completed safely and correctly.
This structured approach ensures all work is fully compliant, professionally delivered, and finished to a standard you can trust.
When to Consider Rewiring
There is no fixed rule for when a property should be rewired, but there are several warning signs that may indicate your electrical system is no longer safe or fit for modern use. At Nexum Electrical Solutions, we often recommend starting with a full Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to assess the condition of your installation and help determine whether a rewire is necessary.
During an EICR, our qualified electricians will inspect your electrical system and highlight any defects, risks, or areas of concern. If a rewire is recommended, we will clearly explain the reasons and outline the safest next steps
Signs Your Property May Need Rewiring
You should consider having your electrics checked if you notice any of the following:
- Flickering or inconsistent lighting
- Burning smells coming from sockets or switches (switch off power immediately and contact an electrician)
- Discoloured or scorched sockets and switches
- Sparks or electric shocks from fittings or appliances (do not attempt to investigate yourself)
- Buzzing, crackling, or unusual noises from electrics
- Outdated wiring materials (such as lead, fabric, or rubber-sheathed cables instead of PVC)
- Lack of proper earthing at switches, sockets, or lighting points
- Signs of overheating on cables, accessories, or the consumer unit
- Older properties with unknown or outdated electrical installations
If multiple warning signs are present, it is likely that your property would benefit from a full or partial rewire to ensure it is safe, compliant, and suitable for modern electrical demand.
How Much Does a Rewire Cost?
At Nexum Electrical Solutions, every rewiring project begins with a free initial assessment, allowing us to provide clear, transparent pricing based on your property and requirements.
Our rewiring service typically includes the safe removal of old wiring, installation of a modern consumer unit with full RCD and SPD protection, and upgrading sockets, switches, and lighting positions to suit your needs. We can also incorporate additional features such as hardwired CAT6 data cabling and coaxial connections for TV systems.
Typical Rewiring Costs
As a general guide:
- 1–2 bedroom property: £2,000 – £4,000
- 3-bedroom property: £3,000 – £5,000
Final costs will depend on the size of the property, complexity of the installation, and any additional requirements.
We understand that a rewire is a significant investment, which is why flexible payment options may be available through trusted finance partners. These can be discussed during your initial consultation to help make the process more manageable.
How Long Does a Rewire Take?
At Nexum Electrical Solutions, most standard rewiring projects can typically be completed within around 4 working days. For larger or more complex properties, the process may take up to 8 working days, depending on the scale of the installation and any additional requirements.
Our priority is always to minimise disruption while ensuring all work is completed safely and to the highest standard.
We understand that rewiring is often time-sensitive, so we aim to provide a fast and efficient service from the initial survey through to completion. In many cases, a full rewire can be arranged within 1–2 weeks of the initial assessment.
For urgent situations where safety is a concern, we can also prioritise works to ensure your property is made safe as quickly as possible, giving you complete peace of mind throughout the process.
Are you accredited electricians?
Yes — Nexum Electrical Solutions is fully accredited.
We are a NICEIC Approved Contractor, demonstrating our competence to carry out electrical installations safely and in compliance with current regulations. We also hold ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 9001 (Quality Management) certifications, reflecting our commitment to sustainability, consistent quality, and continuous improvement.
You can view our full list of accreditations and certifications here.
Will You Install Items That I Supply?
Yes — we can install customer-supplied materials if you prefer to provide your own products.
However, please note that we are unable to offer any warranty or guarantee on items that are supplied by the client. This is because we cannot take responsibility for the manufacturing quality or performance of third-party products.
For full peace of mind, we recommend sourcing materials directly through Nexum Electrical Solutions. This ensures all products meet our quality standards and allows you to benefit from our standard 2-year warranty, with extended warranty options available on selected items.
If you’d like advice on suitable products or pricing, our team is always happy to help.
Which Payment Methods Do You Accept?
We accept payment via:
- Bank transfer (preferred method, details shown on your invoice)
- Debit or credit card payments over the phone
Please note that we do not accept cash or cheques.
Do You Offer Free Electrical Advice?
Yes — we offer free advice to all customers.
Our office team includes experienced electricians who can help guide you towards the most suitable solution for your electrical issue or project. This ensures you receive practical, informed advice before any work is carried out.
However, for safety reasons, we do not provide guidance on carrying out electrical work yourself. Any hands-on electrical work should always be completed by a qualified electrician.
If you’re unsure, we’re always happy to point you in the right direction and arrange a professional assessment where needed.
Do You Offer Free Quotes?
Yes — we offer free quotes and surveys for all electrical installation work.
For electrical repairs, we are generally unable to provide fixed quotes without first inspecting the issue on-site, as the fault needs to be properly diagnosed by a qualified electrician.
In some cases, we may ask you to send photos or additional details by email. This can sometimes help us provide initial guidance and potentially avoid an unnecessary call-out.
If an inspection is required, we will always explain the process clearly before any work begins.
